I have a 2014 MKS (out of warranty) that randomly changes the temperature to high on its own. 2 Dealers have said it needs a new FCIM but the part is not available and they don't know when it will be. I've decided to go the used part route but the used parts guys tell me there are 6 different part numbers for this model and I need to remove the moduale and get the part number off the sticker to confirm the correct part for my car. Are there any tricks I need to be aware of when removing the console or is it pretty straightforward like most cars?

I too am experiencing this issue on my 14 MKS and understand another owner made a video with just this same malfunction. I think their maybe a service bulletin about replacing that module seeing it is major problem on these vehicles. Please keep me up to date if you get clarification on solution and if in fact their is a fix by Ford that is being covered by bulletin. I think it has to do with Sync and maybe software in nature which would be great if it were that simple.

Found a used FICM using an online used parts broker for $150 and installed it today. It was a little more involved than I thought it would be but got it done and saved the $1,000 the dealer wanted to charge me for the installation. So far so good. Hopefully this one will last longer than the original.
