Hi everybody!

I love my new (to me) MKS!  Mine came with the OEM 20" wheels.  I'm in WI and would like to change out the wheels/tires for the winter as they use A LOT of salt on the roads during that time.  Trying to use cheapos because of the salt damage they'll get in a couple of years.  Will a 16" or 17" be ok with the brakes?

I called the local Ford dealership and they have me the "We can't suggest any other size wheels than what came from the factory" thing.

Isn't there a better way...

Put some sort of coating (ceramic?) over the wheels, or...?

I have the 19" wheels on mine and was able to find a complete set of 4 identical rims for my MKS.  I have a good set of Yokohama Ice Guard tires on those and summer tires on the newer rims.  I change out the wheels seasonally myself and it works great.  I have the little programmer for the TPMS for $20 as well.

I got both on Ebay.

I think you have to keep the same basic tire size/wheel size since it is an AWD setup with all of the wheel speed sensors and such.  You should be able to pick up a pretty inexpensive set of 20" wheel from Ebay, I would think.
