I am jealous - never been to the track with mine.

In that first vid, did that say 13.9 for the 1/4?  I did not see the time for the second run in the video. You can, and you have,  run in the mid/upper 12s, .....as have I. What happened? :)

The 13.9 was for the 426 Cubic Inch Plymouth in the other lane!   My camera man totally missed my time but it was 13.1....still very disappointing.    We were fighting a 20-25 MPH headwind and high humidity.   V8 Mustangs and Challenger R/Ts were in the low 13s, also, and were complaining.  The Mustang finally ran a 12.9 but he was expecting to run low 12s easy.

Got it. 13.1 in bad conditions is nothing to sneeze at.

13.1 @ 104.   I will go back when the weather is better and the wind is calmer.  I know it will do a 12.7 under better conditions.  I also had too much fuel (weight) in the tank.  I will be better prepared next time and, hopefully, do a little better job as a driver.   :shift:

UPDATE:  I went back to the track to see if I could improve my times.  Only a slight breeze this time and I turned a 12.8 @ 107.4.  With a more aggressive launch and lower density altitude track,  I know the car has a 12.5 - 12.6 in it.  I am happy with my current time and will probably quit before I break something......or not... :happy feet:

Those are nice runs Bruce - VERY nice - and agree that you could hit 12.5 or 12.6 for sure.  With the 4+ tune  I had a 12.8 @ 104.  With the current 4X Plus tune, I am confident I would hit 12.6 or 12.5.    On my runs, I did not have to worry about timing or the tree or reaction time - so i am guessing under the conditions you had, mine would be the same as yours...or worse.

Todd, I think our Aeroforce gauges are pretty accurate.  With 4+, I had a 1/4 speed of 104.  With the 4X+, at the track, I had 107.4 - a 3 MPH improvement.  The Aeroforce gauge did have my ET at 12.74 but I did that run at 3 AM on a very cool April morning - ideal conditions.

If I adjust my track time for the density altitude at the Brainerd track, I would be at 12.5 @ 109.  Altitude, humidity, temp and barometric pressure play a huge role when you are trying to shave off tenths of a second!

At the end of the day, all I really care about is great street performance - and we both have that!

Hi All Newbie here, is there a tuner for the 3.7L non-ecoboost 2012?

I am not aware of any tuner specific to the 2012 3.7.  LME does have a tuner for 2013 Taurus 3.5 vehicles that might work.  You could call them and discuss.

Tuning a naturally aspirated engine will not provide the same increases as tuning a turbocharged engine, though.

I am also not aware of any specific tuner for the 3.7. And as Bruce indicated, well you will have improved shifting and some performance gains, it's not nearly as easy as increasing boost in a turbo vehicle.

Thank you for the help, I have contacted livernois and they said should be same as the sho taurus, but it has to have TIVCT- twin independent variable cam timing. Im trying to find that out now so far its not listed anywhere other than that it is a DOHC...

TiVCT came out on the 2013 3.7 MKS (just like the Taurus).  So your 2012 will not have it.

Nice run... results?

Fun to watch...

Anything running in the other lane?  Sounded like a burnout beside you prior to the start.

Yes, there was a last generation Z28 Camaro in the other lane.  Weather was not good for setting quick times.  My best that day was 12.9 @ 106.  The Camaro was in the low 14s so it wasn't much of a race.

I made one more trip to the track this morning.  The low temps were good but we had a stiff headwind.   I ran a 12.7 @ 107.8.  The MKS sort of looks out of place sitting with Camaros and Corvettes.

Nice run Bruce! So what all do you have done? 4+ tune, any supporting mods? Any plans on meth?

Scott
