Ford's Mulally Out to Make Lincoln World Class Brand

Lincoln MKS Forums - When I told him that I've talked many in the industry who scoff at the idea of Lincoln becoming every bit as competitive as Lexus and BMW, Mulally gave me his trademark smile that masks what he's truly thinking: Just you wait and see what we're going to build with Lincoln. Using technology and continued refinement in styling and interiors, Mulally expects Lincoln to continue improving.

Mulally told me, "Lincoln has a great brand. It has never been damaged to a place where it cant come back. So again, one more time, when you start seeing these Lincolns come out we absolutely can make them a premium brand."

I think Ford can do it. But its going to take ALOT of work. Everything will need to change. Dealerships will have to step up. The vehicles will have to be more independent of Fords.
But Ford has come along way in a short time. So maybe Lincoln can also.

I voted yes.

With today's announcement (Lincoln offers free maintenance for three years on new cars), they are on the right track. Their quality is improving too - number 8 overall in J.D. Power and the second best U.S. brand in terms of quality, right below Ford. :yahoo:

Only three years :shades:

Here in Canada Lincoln vehicles have had 4 Years or 80,000 km until the 2009 MY. For 2010 they changed it and that would make me look at another brand.

The Canadians always got a better deal on free maintenance.

My 2003 Lincoln LS had 3 years of maintenance. My 2006 Lincoln LS had only 1. My 2009 MKS has only 1 too.
