The Ultimate package has push button start, so remote start is not available as an option with the ultimate package.

When you build and price options, you cannot select the remote start system if you have selected any package that includes the pushbutton start. If you select the remote start, it automatically deselects the packages that include the pushbutton start.
The page you're showing used to state the same thing as of this past weekend when I looked at it.
Maybe they've figured out a way to do it, but I'd verify it with my dealer before taking the plunge.
Those with normal keystart can get remote start.

Guess I need to pay closer attention. Didn't know that a keyed model was available. Thought they all were rocket ships without keys..
I sure like the pushbutton starting. No key is a great thing.

The pushbutton start is great, isn't it? It is an option, though. Don't get me wrong either, I'd love to have remote start for my MKS, especially this time of year. That's why I frequently look at those options and accessories. I am curious why they dropped the note on the remote start accessory about it being incompatible with pushbutton start. Unfortunately I don't think Ford will make it available for those of us with pushbutton start anytime soon.
I just ran across an order guide for the 2010 Ford Taurus. In the Limited, pushbutton start is offered as an option. In the packages that include pushbutton start, the remote start is blacked out and unavailable.
Interestingly, Ford is taking all the goodies from the MKS and offering most of them in the redesigned 2010 Taurus, and the Taurus has a bigger trunk (caddyowner might be interested). It also offers a power rear sunshade and a 350HP ecoboost engine.
For those who are curious, here is a link to the 2010 Ford Taurus order guide. Lots of familiar options here. I think the only ones missing are the THX sound system and the front parking sensors. Other than that, a fully loaded 2010 Ford Taurus compares favorably to the MKS. Personally, I think the MKS looks a lot better, but the Taurus looks pretty nice too except for the front grill.

I might be interested, but everytime I mention "Taurus" to my wife, she says no. She's locked on the MKS or possibly a DTS. We'll see...

Thanks for the link! (Oh, BTW, my first post here..
I noticed the "Multi-Contour Seats with ACTIVE MOTION" as an option. I googled and found out that those seats have some sort of massage-feature that keeps you (and the front passenger) fresh on longer trips - nice.
Now does anybody know if they might be available on the 2010 MKS as well? Would be cool..

Welcome to the forum, EcoBoost. Have you bought your MKS yet or are you waiting for EcoBoost in the 2010 model?
I do not see the ACTIVE MOTION option listed for either the 2010 MKZ or the 2010 MKT.
I haven't seen an order guide for the 2010 MKS yet.
Looks like the 2010 MKZ gets a variation on the MKS grill.

Thanks for the info, TuxedoBlackMKS!
I'm waiting for the EcoBoost and will probably get the MKS in a year or so. I'm currently driving an old Mercury Sable and I have an oil-change appointment this Thursday. I will take this opportunity to have a closer look at the MKS. Although I haven't seen this car in "real" yet, the features this car has (and the features that will be added for MY2010) are simply amazing. I also expect the performance to be more than sufficient with the upcoming new engine.
The ACTIVE MOTION seats won't be a deal-braker for me. I just thought it would be odd if the "lower" class Taurus would get such a feature but not the higher ranked Lincoln. But let's see what's going to happen...

I like push-button start, but I hate it when car companies make you compromise one feature to get another. A few years ago, I had an Expedition, and I could only order AdvanceTrac or air suspension and Sirius radio or navigation. I wanted them all, and had regrets the whole time I owned the car.
While they are at it, I wish Ford would also add some kind of power trunk assist. Unlike many cars, the trunk doesn't pop up on its own, which makes it hard when your hands are full, and it is sometimes hard to close.

"Ford currently offers two dealer-installed remote start options: a one-way system, which will remotely start the vehicle from a key fob from up to 1,000 feet away; and a two-way, bidirectional option, in which the vehicle transmits a signal back to the fob verifying the start-up.Launching later this month is an optional system that's compatible with the Intelligent Access with Push Button Start system available on the 2010 Ford Taurus and Lincoln MKS, soon followed by the factory-installed system."

If so, do you recall the P/N of the remote start or anything else about it?

I just spoke with 1-800-Ford-Key and they said it is available for 2010 models. He could not tell me if it was work on the 09.
The part number is AA5Z-19G364-A.
I called a Lincoln dealer and they gave me the same PN and said it work. I called a Ford dealer and they said it wouldn't and gave the the Ford Key number to call.
If anyone has an 09 w/Push Start and has had the remote start added I would love to hear it!
Dave
