I will test regular vs premium when I get mine. They are only promising slightly more horsepower with premium. It stands to reason that they would promise better mileage if they could. Yet, it stands to reason that if more power is available, it might translate to better efficiency if driven conservativley. Then again, when I do the math, a few extra miles per gallon does not translate to a lot of money on my modest 13,000 miles/year.

AWD with about 2600 miles. Average 19.5 to 20.5. Tried a couple of tanks of premium and could tell no difference in gas mileage but the performance did seem to be better. Most of my driving is rural roads and some city. I tend to use the SST mode until the 6th gear is needed then kick it over to D. Gotta love downshifting..

Just an update to my prior post. I took my first extended highway trip yesterday and averaged just under 27 mpg (FWD model). Lovin' it - sure beats the 17 mpg I traded in with my Yukon.

4800 miles thus far on the odometer and counting. Using 91 Octane at 6000ft above sea level I've been averaging 19-21mpg with a 50/50mix of highway and secondary road driving. In the past, I've achieved 23-26mpg on some 100 mile road trips.

Only have 600 miles on mine right now waiting until the 1,000 hits where the car is broke in but right now I am only getting about 17mpg mostly in town maybe 25% freeway. Sounds like the mpg increases once you break in the engine...good news thanks.

I try to keep the tires inflated at or above the pressure on the door jamb, and I mostly use Chevron Supreme gasoline. I live on the coast, so sea level is generally 0-50 ft. Although on paper there does not appear to be a big difference in the performance of regular and super unleaded, I have noticed a difference in the way the car drives.

Last week, had to take a trip out to Pa, from Jersey, did 289 miles roundtrip, took 9.? gals,
which made my average over 29 mpg - really fantastic. When on the trip, at times, the mpg indicator showed over 30 mpg, which is almost unreal for a car this size.

Now that many of us are comparing gas mileage, it would be helpful to know if the car is FWD or AWD, A/C on or off, how many passengers, fuel grade, etc. So far, my best average mileage is 19.8. That is alone or with one passenger, AWD, A/C on 20%of the time, regular gas, mixed city/highway. I'm getting a case of economy-envy hearing about the 28s and 29s. I may have to take a road trip, alone, and pay for premium, on a cool day, just to feel better.
